1. Multiple Floor Plans Provided & CAD Design Work.
In the design stage of your new kitchen, we spend considerable time determining the
space you have available and your future goals for this space. We then provide you with two
to four different possible CAD designed floor plans, plus an elevation of some of the new
design. From these preliminary designs we single out the details of the features you like best,
and also provide elevations of all cabinet surfaces.
2. Every Lower Shelf Moves!
Due to the difficulty of reaching items at the back of deep cabinets, Tolka Millwork makes all of these shelves full extension pullouts. We will inquire as to your storage needs and custom tailor them to the appropriate drawer height and spacing of drawers. All lower cabinets, pantry shelves and drawers are full extension and custom sized to your needs. These standard Tolka Millwork features mean your new kitchen will have approximately 20 to 30 sliding shelves or drawers!
3. Full Extension Tray, Towel &/or Spice Pullout.
We include at least one special pullout that is about 15” wide by 30” tall to fit below your counter. It is split down the middle and allows multiple shelves of spice racks on one side and vertical storage of baking sheets on the other. Alternatively one side could be used for kitchen towels and dish rags.
4. Lazy Susans That Really Work.
After hearing how many clients seldom use their lazy susan corner cabinet, we designed a lazy susan that overcomes traditional problems. Tolka Millwork’s lazy susan has no hinged doors – the inside of the unit spins around using two large circular shelves with the doors attached. When in use the doors spin to the back of the cabinet and the circular shelves come into the room.
5. Islands & Peninsulas.
A big change in renovating older kitchens is adding or updating an island or peninsula to include bar seating. Tolka Millwork uses this design feature to incorporate built-in appliances or sinks, with possibilities of raised and/or curved bars.
6. Full Height Pantries.
Storage is always an issue in updated kitchens, so Tolka Millwork custom kitchens include a single or double wide, full height, full depth pantry. These often allow built-in appliances and/or lighted display space at the top.
7. Custom Milled Hidden Range Vents
Whether your preferred style is heritage or contemporary, we provide the option of a matching hidden range vent with hidden controls, or a free-standing range vent.
8. Platter Rack Above Fridge
Due to the height of most fridges, the cabinet above often does not get used. To overcome this, Tolka Millwork provides a vertical platter rack for all your deep and oversize platters and dishes to be stored above your fridge. The rack is even full extension so the items at the back can easily be reached.
9. Counter Top Services
Tolka Millwork can provide your counter tops in granite, engineered stone, marble, plastic laminate, or other material of your choice.
